What it costs to fix your website

Four ways to fix your site, with real prices.

Your four options

Cheapest first. We sell one of them, and say so.

  • Do it yourself: $0 and an afternoon

Most fixes are a setting in your website builder: a darker text color, a description on a photo, a name on an icon link.

The catch: You have to find each one and know what to type.

    Start with the 15-minute checklist

  • Pay someone to fix the worst ones: $149 once, from us

A person fixes the 10 most important issues from your scan, then re-scans to show the change.

The catch: Ten issues, not a full audit. Anything your builder won’t let us change comes with steps for you.

  • Install an accessibility widget: $490 a year

A button that opens a menu of display settings. accessiBe’s smallest plan is $59 a month or $490 a year; UserWay’s is $490 a year.

The catch: It doesn’t change the page underneath. All 80 sites we found with a widget still had problems.

    What a widget can’t fix

  • Hire an accessibility consultant: $1,250 to $7,500

An expert checks every page by hand and writes a report. One firm publishes $1,250 to $2,750 for most audits, and $1,500 to $7,500 with the fixes.

The catch: The report lists problems; fixing them is extra unless you buy the full project. Developers charge $100 to $200 an hour.

Prices checked on 28 October 2026 on accessiBe, UserWay and Accessible.org. AudioEye doesn’t publish prices. In April 2025 the FTC ordered accessiBe to pay $1 million for claiming its widget made sites compliant.

Most sites need less than you think

The 546 local business websites we scanned had a median of 10 problems, but only 2 kinds. 434 of 546 had three kinds or fewer: the same faint text or unnamed icon repeated across the page, so one change often fixes many.

From our own scans of home pages in October 2026. We picked these sites because each had at least one serious issue, so the numbers describe sites with problems, not every site.
